Chery to Begin Local Assembly in Pakistan by Early 2026 with $150 Million Investment

Chery Master Pakistan is set to launch local assembly operations in January 2026 under a $150 million investment plan, constructing a manufacturing plant within the National Industrial Park at Port Qasim spanning over 60 acres. The facility is expected to create over 2,000 direct jobs and train personnel in advanced New Energy Vehicle (NEV) technology. It will roll out four core models—Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8, and Tiggo 9—outfitted with Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) systems.

Samir Malik, CEO of Master Auto Engineering, said, “We are proud to collaborate with China’s leading export brand and look forward to introducing Chery’s Super Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle technology to Pakistani consumers.” He also emphasized the broader impact: “This investment will help us train a workforce of over 2,000 in advanced NEV technologies, strengthening the local supply chain.” 

Before assembly begins, Chery Master plans to establish a nationwide retail chain, opening 10 dealerships across seven major cities in 2026. This development aligns with broader policy momentum encouraging auto localization, electric mobility, and value addition in the automotive sector. Analysts view this as a milestone in Pakistan’s industrial journey—shifting from mere imports to in-country assembly, fostering skill development, and reducing foreign exchange burden.
