In an interview with a private news TV channel, Chairman OGDCL Zafar Masud highlighted significant improvements in OGDCL's operations since Ahmed Hayat Lak assumed leadership, attributing these gains to a strategy focused on transparency, indigenization, and production optimization.
"We have ensured transparency in policy, procedures, and governance to eliminate operational loopholes," Masud stated. He appreciated the MD/CEO's role in spearheading production optimization efforts across OGDCL's existing fields. "Under Lak's leadership, we have seen a substantial increase in production, driven by our strategy of indigenization," Masud added.
He expressed optimism about OGDCL's further production increases in the near future, citing ongoing efforts and strategic initiatives under Ahmed Hayat Lak's guidance.
In order to increase the production of the oil and gas companies, Zafar Masud said that a proper assessment of fields is required to figure out what are the impediments and what are requirements related to infrastructure, technology, and security.
The OGDCL Chairman emphasized the critical need for a well-trained and independent regulator in Pakistan's oil and gas sector, noting its absence as a major impediment to sectoral development.
